Yo! My name's Jarome and I'm a Guinness record holder.
My record's since been broken, so I'm going bigger bolder! The new journey won't be easy, but it's burden WE can shoulder. This is my life's passion, like a flame you cannot smolder! When the pressure's on the ice in my veins gets colder. I'm giving it my all, not being a withholder! So make a pledge today, before you go get... |

2) Decide how much you will pledge per bubble
3) Text or email your pledge to be counted with all submitted pledges

Message from Jarom:
Thank you for taking the time to learn about the Bubble Pledge! This project means a lot to me and is my life passion. There are many statistics and reports about the impacts of hunger, but I want to share a brief story of how hunger has impacted me personally. In 2017 I earned the most money of my career and completed a master's degree in business. I felt life was heading in the "right" direction for me. A year later, after several life trials, I found myself in line at a food bank needing assistance to provide for my four young children. It hit me that hunger is an ongoing struggle and we all find ourselves impacted (directly or through a close loved one) at some point. My life purpose is to: Help END Hunger With Bubbles And FUN!
I invite you to make a pledge and participate in this unique event.

FAQ
1) How do I donate my money?
100% of all donations are going directly to people in need. No money is collected by this site. After the record attempt is over you will receive a text or email (depending on how you pledged) with information on where to make your donation for the most impact.
2) Why pledge right now?
Even though the record attempt event isn't taking place until August 8, 2025 your pledge today can help build momentum and inspire other people to join in the cause as well. Plus, you are here right now and it only takes a few seconds to pledge.
3) How do I change my pledge?
Your pledge is anonymous and you are not opting in to a text or email subscription. If you want to change your pledge amount (or the number of people pledging) simply use the same method (text or email) as your original pledge and submit a new one.
For example, if you texted your first pledge of 1 person and $0.25 per bubble and you want to change it to 2 people and $1 per bubble, simply text from the original number you used and send:
2 people $1
(pledges per bubble are the default, so if you want to pledge a flat amount please indicate in your pledge)

Example Pledges:
$0.01
(1 person, 1 penny per bubble)
4 $1
(4 people, $1 per bubble total)
(this is a good example of a family with young children getting involved together in doing something good for their community, two parents and two children for 4 people total, one child pledges $0.10 per bubble the other child pledges $0.20 per bubble and the parents jointly commit to $0.70 per bubble so the total pledge is $1 per bubble)
3 people $30 flat amount
(3 people, $30 total pledged, not per bubble)
$0.01

The Bubble Pledge Story
In 2008, after years of bubble blowing, Jarom Watts submitted an application to attempt a Guinness World Record for the largest free-floating soap bubble on New Year's Eve in Spokane, WA.
The weather ended up being too cold and the approved attempt was delayed a couple of months. While waiting, Jarom decided to submit an application to break a second record on the same day - he selected the longest soap bubble chain (which ended up being one of the most serendipitous events of his life). At the time, the current record was only 9 bubbles, and in his practice attempts Jarom's personal best was 32! |
On February 21, 2009 Jarom Watts set two Guinness World Records: the largest free-floating soap bubble (483 cubic feet) and also the longest soap bubble chain (15 bubbles).
Shortly after breaking the records, Jarom was in a college marketing class with a group project and was teamed up with the executive director of a local food bank.
He offered to perform for an upcoming event they were having and got the idea to attempt a soap bubble chain to help raise money for the food bank. Similar to a walk-a-thon, people were able to make a pledge ahead of time per bubble that would be strung together in the chain during the official attempt. The exciting part is that nobody knows ahead of time, including Jarom, how many bubbles will be connected together in the chain! The event was a success and the Bubble Pledge was born! |
Jarom decided to go bigger and attempt a global event with a record bubble chain on November 11, 2011 (11.11.11@11). Things didn't go as planned and resulted in years of setbacks, but Jarom could never shake the feeling that the Bubble Pledge was part of his life purpose.
After careful planning and preparing the Bubble Pledge continued to evolve and is now a 30-year life project with 3 phases. Phase 1 is the Utah Bubble Pledge with the pinnacle event being a world record attempt for the longest soap bubble chain on August 8, 2025 at 8pm (8.8@8). The current Guinness World Record (as of 2019) is 40 bubbles, so Jarom will be attempting at least 40-50 bubbles. The goal is to have at least 40,000 UN1TS pledged per bubble (1 penny = 1 UN1T). |
In failing to secure sponsors in 2011, Jarom committed to sponsoring the Bubble Pledge out of his own pocket and is saving to pay for all of the needed travel and expenses. This ensures that 100% of all pledges and donations go directly to helping end hunger.
